Host a Print Party!

Are you ready to restyle, reuse, and relove your old clothes?!
Then this eco-friendly workshop is for you!
Fun for all ages!
In this block printing session, attendees will be invited to choose their own pre-carved plant, animal, and bone imagery from the Forest & Fern collection to permanently print on their own clothing or provided blank goods.
How it Works:
For this 2 hour workshop, attendees will bring their own clothing or fabric goods to print on as many times as they like using permanent black* fabric ink.
No prior experience is needed - just a willingness to experiment and have fun!
We’ll walk through the basics of block printing, from ink application to placement techniques, so folks can confidently create bold, patterned designs on fabric. You’ll have access to a variety of original carved stamps from the Forest & Fern collection, along with guidance on how to make your prints permanently last.
Each piece attendees leave with will be a wearable reflection of their own creativity!
Where to throw your Party:
Many folks simply clean off the dining room table, set up a selection of snacks and drinks in the kitchen, and then we print right in the living room. But if you’d like something a little more adventurous, we’ve partnered with a few local spots around Chattanooga who would be thrilled to help you celebrate!
Whiskey Cowgirl: Perfect for a no-fuss night out where there’s already atmosphere kickin’ and a full bar and menu available.
Studio Ours: Definitely a more private and elevated experience in the classic hardwood and brick Turnbull Building. BYO is available for a cleaning fee.
The 109 Gallery: A fun yet sophisticated evening in a gorgeous turn-of-the-century private art gallery with in-house catering available.
(Optional) Blank Items to Print On:
We have blank items for your guests to print on such as tea towels, tote bags, and bandanas available for purchase.
With advanced planning, we can offer an assortment of other blank items such as t-shirts, aprons, bunting flags, backpacks, multi-pocket tote bags, wine cozies and more.
We can also carve a special block for you commemorating the event or guest of honor. Feel free to message us your idea here.
*Black is our standard ink color since it shows up crisply on the most fabric colors, but other ink colors are available for an extra fee.
The Details
Cotton, canvas, linen, denim, and tshirts are recommended materials to print on since they have been shown to hold ink the best, but attendees are welcome to experiment with any fabric they’d like.
What fabrics can be printed on?
It is a water-based permanent fabric ink that does not require heat setting and can be cleaned up easily with soap & water, named Speedball Fabric Ink. It’s non-toxic and will not hurt or stain skin.

What kind of ink is used?
Is is possible to teach block carving at the party too ?
We actually do have another private workshop for carving and printing! That party is customizable, and requires a bit more concentration on behalf of attendees, but is especially fun for guests that are more on the creative side. Booking coming soon!
What ages are these parties for?
This workshop is perfect for adults and mixed-aged families. Parties for kids ages 6-17 can be booked with your own chaperones (a few needed for the younger kids and just one for the older ones). Printing is an excellent activity for birthday parties!
All the ink & printing supplies for up to 8 printing stations, a drying rack, and table cloths to protect your furniture, as well as instruction and guidance the whole time. We also bring three folding tables: one for laying out supplies, and two tables for 4 printing stations.

What does the host need to provide?
Places to dry clothes, such as a closet or racks, extra hangers, and cleared tabletops for printing on. We use about 5-6 feet of table top area for every two printing stations, so two large tables is ideal but not required. And of course, a fun atmosphere so turn up the music and put extra drinks on ice!
A two hour Print Party is $200 plus a travel fee of $20 within Chattanooga (adjusted if outside). Colored ink, blank items, custom branded stamps, and rented venues will incur additional costs. The party price is a flat rate session, and not based on attendee count, so invite as many folks as you like!
